A very calm wind today and mediocre temps meant for pleasant conditions to be in the woods. Saw plenty of deer and could hear for miles (it seemed).
I took time to trim up the sucker growth from the underbrush that I cleared last summer to allow a clear view of the river from one of the trail-side benches.
I crossed paths with Jeanne McCurnin and took time to visit. Then hit the ancillary trails around the quarry to be sure to get in 10 miles.
My father used to talk about crossing this trestle. |
