Today we surprised a few deer along the trail. One was a nice looking 8-point buck. I have noticed several trees along some of the paths that had "rubs" where the antlered deer rub the tree to mark a territory. Hadn't thought much about them until the buck flushed today.
We continued onto the area open to hunting and promptly came across another hiker...dressed in safety orange and carrying a gun! Reminded me of last week's post.
Another 10 mile day...got out after the annual "Christmas Tea" at NIACC where there were plenty of good eats!
