With the continued threat of some winter weather finally arriving (in the shape of snow and blizzard), the day was surprisingly mild. The trail was a bit soft due to melting of yesterday's dusting of snow and I didn't notice much wind yet.

As we passed some of the limestone bluffs beside the trail, I couldn't help but think of how much we're hearing about the "fiscal cliff". This, along with a lot more talk about the Mayan apocalypse, made for a more depressing outing than you'd want at Christmas!
I truly hope that we get some nice snow for snowshoeing but not in a way that interferes with peoples holiday travel plans.
Did the 6 mile loop today.
